About our trips

Deposit
The deposit for our hotel trips is 15% of the total trip cost (minimum €100) and must be paid immediately upon receiving your booking confirmation. The remaining balance must be transferred to our account no later than six weeks before departure.

Luggage
Your luggage—one suitcase per person with a maximum weight of 20 kg—will be transported from hotel to hotel. Typically, your luggage will be picked up around 9:00 AM and delivered to the next hotel by 5:00 PM. A tour without luggage transport is also available, with a discount of €10 per person per travel day.

If you wish to bring more luggage, please inform us in advance. This is possible for an additional €5 per piece of luggage per travel day.

We handle your luggage with care. However, normal use may result in scratches, dents, and other minor damages, for which we are not liable. In case of major damage, you may file a claim with your travel and/or luggage insurance.

Accessibility
Our starting points are easily accessible by car, bus, and/or train.

Payment Options
Once your trip is confirmed, you will receive the travel agreement via email. This document will specify the deposit amount (15% of the trip cost plus any insurance premiums) that must be paid immediately. The remaining balance must be settled no later than six weeks before departure.

Payment can be made through your personal MyCHK page. You will receive login details after your booking is confirmed.

For Dutch customers, bank transfer (internet banking) is the easiest option.

Credit card payment is also possible via MyCHK.

Booking
You can reserve your hiking holiday online or by phone. Once we receive your reservation, we will confirm it via email as soon as possible.

Extra Nights
You can book additional nights at all locations where you stay during your hiking holiday. Prices can be found under "Extra Nights" in the relevant itinerary.

Accommodations
We are committed to ensuring that after a wonderful hike, you have a comfortable place to stay for the night. We carefully select hotels that offer a pleasant atmosphere and ensure that you will enjoy comfort and luxury. You will stay in charming hotels or luxurious bed & breakfasts, each equipped with a shower/toilet or bath/toilet. Breakfast is always included with your overnight stays. Please note that accommodations may differ from those shown in the trip description. If the listed accommodations are not available, we will book an equivalent option with which we collaborate.

Pets
Unfortunately, most accommodations do not accept pets. If you wish to bring your dog, please inquire with us about the possibility.

Discounts
Children - Child Discounts

Children up to 4 years old stay free if they share a room with their parents.
For children aged 4 to 12, a 20% discount applies if they share a room with their parents.
An extra bed in a double room for a third person aged 12 or older receives a 10% discount.
Groups For groups of 7 or more people booking together, CountyHike offers a group discount:

For 7 or 8 people: each participant receives a 7% discount on the base trip cost.
For 9 or more people: each participant receives a 10% discount on the base trip cost.
Travel Insurance
A worry-free vacation means traveling with good insurance, as you want to have the necessary assistance in case of unexpected events. It’s also important to minimize financial risks in the event of cancellations or other unforeseen circumstances. We recommend obtaining comprehensive travel and cancellation insurance.

Reservation
You can reserve your hiking holiday via the internet, fax, or phone. Once we receive your reservation, we will send you a booking confirmation/invoice via email as soon as possible.

Trip Cost
The total trip cost must be transferred to our account no later than one month before the start of the hiking holiday. The deposit of 15% of the trip cost must be paid within 10 days of receiving the booking confirmation.

Itinerary
After full payment of the trip cost, the itinerary—including sightseeing information for the journey—will be sent to your home address approximately two weeks before departure.

Starting Points
The starting locations for our trips are usually well accessible by bus and/or train. If you wish to start from a different location, we can accommodate that request.

Cancellation

For our individual tours the following cancellation terms apply:

• cancellation until 21th day (exclusive) before the start of your bike trip: 15% of the full amount (with a minimum of €100,-)
• cancellation from the 21th day (inclusive) until the 14th day (exclusive) before the start: 50% of the full amount
• cancellation from the 14th day (inclusive) until the 5th day (exclusive) before the start: 75% of the full amount
• cancellation from the 5th day (inclusive) to the start: 90% of the full amount
• cancellation on the starting day or later: the full amount 

For group bookings (10 persons or more) different cancellation terms can apply.

• On demand: Tour as GPS-file

Not included

• Paper maps or information, it is App-only
• Journey to the starting point of your DBT cycle holiday
• Journey from the finishing point of your DBT cycling holiday back home
• Other meals.
• Ferry crossings
• Compulsory fee for Stichting Garantiefonds Reisgelden (SGR, garantuee fund in case of bankruptcy of travel organisation) of €5,- per person. 

Walking and signposting 

ThePieterpad

The route of the Pieterpad is marked with a white and a red stripe. 

The red-and-white stripe is the international designation for long-distance hiking trails.

As you continue along the route, you will see a rectangle in red and white.       

If different long-distance hiking trails intersect, the name of the route will be indicated as well:

When you change direction, you will see a rectangular marker with a dot that points left or right. (Sometimes, it’s just an arrow).

 If you head in the wrong direction at potentially confusing points, you will see a marker with a red and white cross.

How to Book

The easiest way to book is to fill out online booking form. But you can also send us a message by e-mail or just give us a ring. Your booking will be irrevocable as soon as we send you the booking confirmation.

Conditions of Payment

After receiving our booking confirmation, kindly transfer 15% down payment per person (minimum €100,-) as soon as possible. For bike & boat tours we ask 30% down payment.  The remaining sum is due not later than 6 weeks before the start date of your cycling holiday as stated in the booking.

Your Changes to Arrangements

Should you wish to make changes to your booking, this will be possible up to 14 days before the start of the holiday (if the hotels are still able to accept the changes). We charge €25, - per booking for processing the change, irrespective of the number of participants.

Changes to the Route

If, due to unforeseen circumstance, we are forced to deviate from the published route descriptions, participants will be informed a.s.a.p.

Prices

Prices are per person, unless otherwise specified, and based on two (or more) adults sharing a room. We do not charge you extra for taxes, administrative booking fees, etc. You will receive one Route Pack per room.

Singles Surcharge

If you are travelling alone, we will calculate a surcharge that takes into account the additional costs for luggage transport, single room and Route Pack.

Extra Nights

It is possible to stay extra nights at any of the B&B's or hotels on your route.

CountyHike (Chamber of Commerce no. 30088748) is a member of the SGR (Travel Guarantee Fund). You can verify this at www.sgr.nl. The trips published on this website are covered by the SGR guarantee. This means that consumers are assured of a refund of their prepaid travel money if the provider cannot fulfill the agreed services due to financial insolvency. If the agreement includes transportation and the destination has already been reached, arrangements will be made for the return journey.

A mandatory SGR contribution of €5 per person will be charged at the time of your reservation, for the benefit of the SGR fund.
